Luke 1, Part 3

Scripture: Luke 1:57-80

Observation: John the Baptist is born, and his father Zechariah gives praises to God. Zechariah prophesies that John will prepare the way of the Lord, by the promise God had give the Israelites hundreds of years before.

Application: God always keeps His promises. It had been 400 years since a prophet had spoken of the coming Messiah, yet at the proper time Jesus came. The same is true for our lives. God makes us a promise; we can be sure it will be fulfilled at the proper time.

Prayer: Lord, You promised to come back for Your church. Many turn from You in discouragement and disbelief because You haven't come back yet. But Your Word is true, and Your promises secure. You will return, at the proper time, in all Your Glory, for Your bride. I await that day as though it is today, knowing that Your Word will not return to You empty. Come Lord Jesus! In Your Precious Name I pray, Amen.
