Luke 8, Part 3

Scripture: Luke 8:22-25

Observation: Jesus goes out on a boat and falls asleep. Shortly after, a storm begins, causing great fear. The disciples wake Him, and He calms the storm. "Where is your faith?" He asks them. But they are amazed at the One who has the power and authority to command the winds and the waters.

Application: Psalm 135:7 tell us God controls the lightning and rain, and Nahum 1:4 says He rebukes the sea. The displays of Jesus's authority were designed to prove His identity. When the disciples saw these displays, it transformed their lives, because they realized this was God, and they were in His presence. I can experience Jesus's presence in a different way. As I draw closer to Him in prayer, I give Him all my joys, my praises, my worries and concerns. I can experience the peace of the Holy Spirit as I turn my life over to His will.

Prayer: Father that is my desire, to feel Your presence in my life at every moment. I don't want to know one single moment without You. Be the center of my life Lord, that no matter which way I turn I will feel You all around me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
